Does Ukraine have a seat at the negotiating table with Russia? The WSJ reports that Rubio shared this insight with Sibiga.

Washington has no intention of preventing Kyiv from engaging in negotiations, as that would be "foolish."
У Украины есть ли возможность вести переговоры с Россией? WSJ сообщает, что Рубио высказался по этому поводу Сибиге.

American officials have sought to assure Ukraine that it will sit down with Russia at the negotiating table to discuss an end to the war.

This is reported by The Wall Street Journal (WSJ). It is noted that this occurred after President Volodymyr Zelensky warned that Ukraine would not accept a peace agreement imposed from above.

Diplomats who attended the G7 foreign ministers' meeting in the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference state that U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio told his Ukrainian counterpart Andrii Sibiga that Washington has no intention of preventing Ukraine from negotiating and that doing so would be foolish.

What Happened Earlier

U.S. President Donald Trump's special representative for Ukraine, Kurt Volker, stated that European representatives would not be at the negotiating table between Ukraine and Russia. He emphasized that "it would be foolish to say" that Ukraine would not be part of this process. Volker highlighted that Russia and Ukraine would engage in direct negotiations, with the U.S. acting as a mediator.

Meanwhile, Mykhailo Podoliak, advisor to the head of the President's Office, stated that Ukraine would not have negotiators representing it in Saudi Arabia, where talks involving the U.S. and Russia will take place. According to him, Russia does not desire negotiations but merely wants a formal negotiating table to obtain certain concessions.

The report notes that European officials have already begun preparing a response to the Trump administration. They assert that European funds will be necessary to bolster defense and rebuild Ukraine.

The publication highlighted that European allies noted that the White House wants European troops to help enforce the peace agreement, but no parliament on the continent will approve this step unless Europe is given a chance to assist in establishing peace in Ukraine.

Recall that earlier, "Telegraph" reported that Ukraine was not invited to the negotiations aimed at ending the war, which are supposedly set to take place in the coming days between U.S. and Russian representatives in Saudi Arabia.
