"It could happen": The Pentagon currently "doesn't see" North Korean troops engaged in combat against Ukraine.

The Pentagon has once again stated that it allegedly "cannot confirm" North Korea's active involvement in direct combat operations against Ukraine. However, despite their repeated "blindness," they do not rule out the possibility that North Korean soldiers could be engaged in fighting in the future.

This was announced on December 2 by Pentagon spokesperson Brigadier General Patrick Ryder during a briefing. He confirmed that the Pentagon currently cannot independently verify information regarding the participation of North Korean soldiers in battles against the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

"So far, we have not seen any evidence of North Korea participating in offensive combat operations, although we expect that at some point this could become very likely... and we are aware of reports of North Korean soldiers being killed as a result of Ukrainian strikes on Russian targets," he stated.

Ryder also acknowledged that in many cases, North Korean military groups have been integrated into Russian frontline units, and information on initial casualties among Kim Jong Un's soldiers is already available. However, the Pentagon is currently unable to provide specific casualty figures or confirm them.

It is worth noting that soldiers from the Democratic People's Republic of Korea are already participating in Russia's war against Ukraine, but they are being used not only in direct combat with the Ukrainian Armed Forces. They are fighting under the guise of the local population from the Far East and possess corresponding fake documents. Losses have also been recorded among North Korean military personnel.

As reported by "Telegraph", a North Korean army general was injured during a Storm Shadow missile attack in the Kursk region on November 20. Although his name has not been disclosed, according to American media, this marks the first confirmed case of a high-ranking North Korean military official being wounded on Russian territory near the Ukrainian border.
