Law enforcement officials in the Kyiv region have apprehended the head of a charitable organization and a volunteer, suspected of illegally selling vehicles that were imported as humanitarian aid. This was reported by the Kyiv regional prosecutor's office, as conveyed by UNN.
Details
According to the investigation, since 2022, over 680 vehicles were imported into Ukraine as part of the foundation's activities, intended for free distribution to the military. However, some of these vehicles were sold within the Borispol district.
During one such transaction, law enforcement recorded the transfer of 19,400 US dollars for the sale of four vehicles. It was at this moment that the head of the charitable organization and the volunteer were detained.
They are currently facing suspicion of selling humanitarian aid for personal enrichment through prior conspiracy (part 3 of article 201-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). A decision is being made regarding the imposition of a preventive measure in the form of detention.
The pre-trial investigation is ongoing, and investigators are establishing all circumstances of the crime and the circle of possible accomplices. According to the law, the final decision on the guilt of the suspects will be made by the court.
