Ukrainian military personnel are preparing fighter jets F-16 for deployment directly on the front lines. This will not only secure the airspace but also enable strikes on ground targets. Reports TSN. This information has been shared by Kontrakty.UA.
This was stated on the "24 Channel" by Anatoliy Khrapchynskyi, the deputy director of a Ukrainian electronic warfare production company and a former officer of the Ukrainian Air Force.
He mentioned that Ukraine has already completed the first stage of combat coordination and is ready to start using F-16s in direct combat operations.
"The F-16 aircraft is equipped with sufficient weaponry to strike ground targets. At the same time, it can protect itself or other aircraft conducting similar operations with air-to-air missiles," Khrapchynskyi said.
Before deploying Western fighter jets to the front, Ukraine has conducted a series of preparatory operations with them. Additionally, modern “Mirage” aircraft have been added to the arsenal, belonging to the 4+ generation and capable of effectively targeting ground objectives.
Khrapchynskyi also noted that thanks to the acquisition of modern air defense systems like Patriot and NASAMS, Ukrainian forces can now share their experience with Western partners. The same may occur with aviation.
“Our pilots will soon be able to train their Western counterparts on how to use their armaments in complex conditions where there is a high volume of enemy air defense,” the expert concluded.
