The President of France, Emmanuel Macron, emphasized that the war in Ukraine will continue and urged for the provision of opportunities for Ukraine not only to endure but also to enter negotiations from a position of strength. Reports TSN. This was reported by Kontrakty.UA.

He made this statement during his traditional address to the French Armed Forces, reports a correspondent from "Ukrinform."

“The war will not end tomorrow or the day after,” Macron warned.

The French President highlighted the importance of providing Ukraine with necessary guarantees after the cessation of hostilities to prevent a recurrence of war on its territory.

“The challenge today is to enable Ukraine to endure and enter any future negotiations from a position of strength. The challenge tomorrow, when hostilities cease, will be to provide Ukraine with guarantees against any return to war on its territory, as well as guarantees of our own security,” Macron stated.

Speaking in Cesson-Sévigné near Rennes, the French President also stressed the need to strengthen Europe's defense industry.

“In a world where rules are disappearing and arsenals are being filled, we must go further and faster. We need to change the scale, move to a greater number of joint programs, and make choices for European champions,” Macron noted.

He also underscored France's commitment to the NATO alliance, which, according to him, remains a key mechanism for cooperation with the United States as long as they maintain their commitment to European security.

“France believes in the strength of NATO because it is a natural sphere for cooperation with the United States,” Macron added.

It is worth mentioning that the new 47th President of the United States, Donald Trump, did not mention Ukraine at all in his inaugural address. However, he assured that he would "stop all wars".
