The reports suggesting that the war in Ukraine will end by May 9 are deliberate misinformation propagated by Russia. Writes TSN. This was reported by Kontrakty.UA.
This opinion was expressed on the air of Espresso by the General of the Army of Ukraine, head of the Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine (2005-2010) Mykola Malomuzh.
"The materials that have appeared in the public domain regarding the end of the war on May 9 are a deliberate leak intended to provide a model for such a scenario for the Trump team, Europeans, and third countries," Malomuzh believes.
He noted that Russia and its allies are probing the Trump team, as there are supporters of such a scenario within it.
"They consider it a viable option – to cease hostilities without appropriate guarantees for Ukraine: NATO membership, restrictions on military resources – this is absurd and represents a model of Russia," emphasized the General of the Army of Ukraine.
Malomuzh stated that this model is being pushed through various means, but primarily within the Trump administration.
"Therefore, we need to work with the team of the new US president to provide a clear perspective and understanding. From my extensive experience over the past decades working with both Americans and Europeans, I can say that in such serious military situations, there is a model of simple solutions. Because Americans talk about solving the issue through striking or resolving problems along the demarcation line - such a model does not work," noted Mykola Malomuzh.
Earlier, political scientist Volodymyr Fesenko stated that Putin will not stop the war even if peace negotiations begin.
We previously informed that the Russian authorities are currently doing everything possible to "charm" the new US President Donald Trump in order to "push" Ukraine out of the negotiation processes regarding the end of the war.
