NATO will continue to support Ukraine to ensure a just and lasting peace, according to Rutte.

NATO will continue to support Ukraine. The Alliance will assist in establishing a sustainable and just peace, assured NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte.
НАТО будет продолжать поддерживать Украину для достижения справедливого и устойчивого мира, - заявил Рютте.

This is reported by RBK-Ukraine citing Rutte's video address on the occasion of the 3rd anniversary of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine. This information is provided by Kontrakty.UA.

"NATO will continue to support and stand by Ukraine, helping it with the challenges ahead to ensure that this war ends with a just and lasting peace," Rutte stated in his video address.

According to Rutte, during the years of Russian aggression, NATO countries have assisted Ukraine by providing weapons, equipment, and training its soldiers.

"We have made it strong... The courage and resilience of the Ukrainian people is an inspiration for the world," Rutte noted.

The Secretary General added that now, as Ukraine marks 3 years since the onset of Russia's full-scale invasion, it is vital for NATO countries to emphasize achieving a fair and lasting peace even more.

Rutte's Statements on Ending the War

Recall that recently Rutte stated that NATO countries must help Ukraine take a position of strength. Only then will Ukraine not lose the war.

"I fundamentally urge allies to provide weapon systems so that Ukrainians have maximum strength for defense. The U.S. is number one, and Germany is number two," he asserted.

As for negotiations to end the war, Rutte noted that the Russian dictator Vladimir Putin is completely unpredictable. However, to reach a peace agreement, it is essential for the Kremlin leader to be present at the negotiating table.

According to Rutte, it is necessary to ensure that "the outcomes of the negotiations are primarily solid."

"And also, that other countries - in the Pacific region, China, and India - understand that it is the West that has won," added the NATO Secretary General.
