Starting January 1, 2025, Ukraine will implement automatic military registration for young men who have reached the age of 17. This is mandated by law 4197-IX, which was signed by President Volodymyr Zelensky.
According to the new regulations, 17-year-old boys will register between January 1 and July 31. The procedure can be completed in two ways: through an electronic cabinet or by visiting a territorial recruitment and social support center (TRC and SSP) in person.
The basic military registration covers men aged 16 to 25. All data will be entered into a unified registry called "Oberih." It is important to note that registration does not imply immediate mobilization—under the law, conscription can only occur upon reaching the age of 25.
Annual registration for conscription occurs from January to March. For school students, notifications about the need for registration come through educational institutions. Outside of school, this responsibility falls to local council heads, institution leaders, and heads of homeowners' associations.
The following individuals are required to register:
Violating military registration rules may result in a fine ranging from 17,000 to 25,500 hryvnias.
Additionally, "Telegraf" reported on whether men with excess weight can be mobilized. To confirm the diagnosis, it is necessary to undergo a military medical commission (MMC).
