This statement was made by the German Ministry of Defense representative on the eve of today’s summit of European leaders in Paris.
A spokesperson for the German government indicated that they do not expect concrete results from the negotiations.
Nevertheless, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz told reporters that "we must ensure that Europe faces the challenges of the future strongly, sovereignly, and with a straight back."
"I am confident that we can develop a clear position," he emphasized.
