On Saturday, January 25, a powerful explosion occurred in a residential complex in Irpin, Kyiv region. Emergency responders and law enforcement quickly arrived at the scene.
Judging by the published photos, the shockwave from the explosion was so strong that window frames were blown off the balcony and thrown a great distance away. Details of the incident were shared by the press service of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine.
It is known that the explosion took place in an apartment on the 7th floor of a ten-story building in Irpin. The firefighters who arrived at the scene ruled out the possibility of a fire.
The exact cause of the explosion in the apartment remains unknown. Fortunately, there were no casualties.
The explosion was so powerful that the double-glazed windows on the balcony were completely ripped out and "thrown" a significant distance away. They landed almost next to the neighboring building, while parts of the structure were scattered across the parking lot and roadway.
The apartment also sustained damage as a result of the explosion.
The causes and circumstances of the incident are being investigated. An inquiry is underway regarding this matter.
Earlier, "Telegraph" reported that on the night of January 25, Kyiv and the surrounding area were attacked by strike drones from Russian occupiers. As a result, debris from a drone fell onto a high-rise building in the Kyiv region, causing significant damage to the structure.
