In Ukraine, the mobilization rules have been updated. From now on, conscripts who come to the Territorial Center for Recruitment and Social Support to update their records will be immediately directed to a medical examination. Reports TCN. This has been announced by Kontrakty.UA.
These changes were introduced on January 28 by the Cabinet of Ministers to the Procedure for the Recruitment of Citizens for Military Service during Mobilization.
Lawyer Marina Bekalo explained in a comment to TCN.ua what has changed. Previously (according to the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine's resolution dated May 16, 2024, No. 560), a man who voluntarily came to the Territorial Center to update his data was not immediately referred to the military medical commission.
“Instead, he was handed a summons for another date. This rule has now been removed. However, there are no changes regarding the military medical commission – the medical examination is the military medical commission,” – Marina Bekalo stated.
This means that now, upon arriving at the Territorial Center for Social Support to update his data, a man will immediately receive a referral to the military medical commission.
At the same time, such referrals will be issued provided there is no existing conclusion from the military medical commission regarding fitness for service.
In Reserve+, you can receive an electronic referral to the military medical commission
It is worth noting that on January 28, the Cabinet also introduced electronic referrals to military medical commissions for conscripts.
To undergo an examination to determine fitness for military service, it will no longer be necessary to go to the Territorial Center for Social Support for a paper referral and stand in line.
A conscript can submit a request for an electronic referral in “Reserve+”, receive a notification with the necessary information on their smartphone, and go directly to the specified healthcare facility.
The electronic referral to the military medical commission is the first step in a large-scale reform of the military medical commission. The next step will be the integration of the information systems of the Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Health of Ukraine.
From the fall of 2025, a conscript will be able to independently choose a medical facility that has a contract with the National Health Service of Ukraine in “Reserve+” for the fitness examination.
