After discussions with Putin and Zelensky, Trump expresses hope for an end to the war.

U.S. President Donald Trump stated that after discussions with Russian dictator Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, there is hope for peace. He also mentioned that the United States and Ukraine are nearing an agreement regarding natural resources.
После встреч с Путиным и Зеленским есть надежда на прекращение войны, - Трамп.

This is reported by RBK-Ukraine citing a broadcast from "Voice of America." This information comes from Kontrakty.UA.

"The war is a very significant issue between Russia and Ukraine. People are dying, mostly young Ukrainians and Russians in numbers not seen for many years. I spoke with President Putin, and I hope this will all end soon. It's a terrible war, it's hard to watch. I'm in communication with President Zelensky and President Putin," Trump stated at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC).

The U.S. President reiterated that if he were in the White House, Russia would never have invaded Ukraine. Russia, on its part, invaded for a number of reasons, which Trump did not specify.

He also mentioned that he is trying to recover the funds that were allocated to Ukraine. According to him, Europe allocated $100 billion, while the U.S. provided $350 billion because the U.S. had an "incompetent administration and president."

"But here’s what’s worse, Europe provided it as a loan; they will get their money back. And we just gave it away for free; I want them to give us something in return for the money we allocated to them. And I will try to resolve this situation because we are demanding from them what we can get - rare earth metals and oil. The situation in Europe, of course, does not affect us; we ended up there because of Biden, but why hasn’t he stabilized the situation, why are we spending so much more than Europe?" Trump said.

He added that Biden didn’t even know that Europe would receive money, while the U.S., in turn, gets nothing but wants to get it back to ensure fairness.

Trump also mentioned that Ukraine and the U.S. are quite close to an agreement regarding natural resources.

Recall that the President of the United States announced today a new stage of negotiations for a ceasefire in Ukraine between U.S. and Russian delegations. According to him, as reported by Euronews, the talks will take place on February 25 in Saudi Arabia.

Interestingly, after the first stage of the meeting, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated that the parties agreed on the restoration of their embassy's regular schedule, the creation of a group to support peace negotiations, and the exploration of closer relations and economic cooperation.

We also reported that Trump has repeatedly reminded that if he were president, there supposedly would not have been a full-scale Russian invasion.

Furthermore, we informed that recently he threatened Ukraine with consequences if the country does not sign an agreement granting the U.S. access to its mineral resources.
