Trump was informed about who poses a bigger "obstacle" to peace talks: Putin or Zelensky.

According to Marco Rubio, the task of ending the war in Ukraine is challenging and will require some time.
Путин или Зеленский: в окружении Трампа заявили, кто является большей "препятствием" на пути к мирным переговорам.

The position of US President Donald Trump remains unchanged – the war in Ukraine must conclude through peaceful negotiations. However, this requires both sides of the conflict to be willing to make concessions, as neither Ukraine nor Russia can achieve their "maximalist" goals. Reports TSN. This was stated by Kontrakty.UA.

This perspective was expressed by US Secretary of State Marco Rubio in an interview with American journalist Megyn Kelly.

Rubio emphasized that ending the war, which has been ongoing for nearly three years, will take time.

In response to a question about who poses the greatest "obstacle" to initiating the negotiation process – Putin or Zelensky, Rubio stated that both presidents "have their internal interests."

"If you imagine being Ukrainian, and the Russians have made you suffer so much, would you now allow them to keep the occupied territories? I mean, Ukrainians would be upset about this, and that's understandable," the US Secretary of State noted.

However, according to him, there is also a "more mature" perspective on the realities of life. The main point is that both countries are paying too high a price by continuing the hostilities. Therefore, both Ukraine and Russia have a vested interest in ending the armed conflict.

"This [the war in Ukraine – ed.] will not end with the achievement of maximalist goals by either side. We all have a lot of hard work to do. And I am confident that only the US, led by President Trump, can accomplish this. The task is not easy and will require some time. But I know that he [Trump – ed.] is determined to achieve this," Marco Rubio concluded.

It is worth noting that Trump is likely to negotiate not with Russia, but with China, as the Russian economy has proven weak and uninteresting to the US. This gives Ukraine hope for continued support from the US and victory in the war.
