"Kyiv region! UAVs have been detected in the airspace. Air defense forces are working on the targets. Stay in shelters until the air raid alert is lifted. Take care of your safety," the Kyiv Regional Military Administration (KOVA) stated online.
In the vicinity of Zaporizhzhia city last night, February 17, explosions were heard. Air defense forces are actively engaged due to another enemy attack.
This was reported by the head of the Zaporizhzhia OVA Ivan Fedorov and "Suspilne Zaporizhzhia".
The official mentioned explosions in Zaporizhzhia region around 2:30 AM.
He later informed that combat operations were underway to repel the air attack and urged local residents to remain in shelters until the alert was lifted.
"Our air defense is operational. Stay safe until the alert is over," the OVA head stated in a Telegram post.
By approximately 3:54 AM, explosions were reported in the city of Zaporizhzhia.
Later, the head of the Zaporizhzhia OVA reported a fire resulting from the enemy air attack. It occurred in a non-residential building, and preliminary data indicated no casualties.
"Emergency services are already on their way to the scene," the official added.
He also released footage of the fire but did not specify the exact location of the blaze.
In Kharkiv, explosions were heard on the night of February 17. Russian invaders carried out a drone strike on the city.
This was reported by Kharkiv Mayor Igor Terekhov. An explosion in the vicinity of Kharkiv was heard around 1:20 AM.
According to the mayor, the Saltoivskyi district of Kharkiv was hit in the enemy air attack.
"An explosion occurred in Kharkiv. Preliminary reports indicate that a 'Shahed' type UAV struck the Saltoivskyi district of the city," Terekhov stated in a Telegram post.
He also added that details of the drone attack in Kharkiv are being clarified.
In addition, according to Terekhov, two people in the Kholodnohirskyi district experienced acute stress reactions.
Terekhov reported that a 'Shahed' type UAV hit a private property in the Kholodnohirskyi district of Kharkiv. As a result of the strike, a residential house was damaged. Information about casualties is being clarified. Emergency services are on-site.
Later, Terekhov mentioned that the drone strike in the Saltoivskyi district, according to preliminary data, was near an administrative building.
"As of now, there are no casualties. Some windows in administrative buildings and nearby houses have been shattered. The situation is being clarified," the mayor informed.
The Kharkiv mayor also noted that in the Kholodnohirskyi district, three people have already sought medical assistance due to acute stress reactions.
According to the Kharkiv Regional Police, hits were recorded in the Saltoivskyi and Kholodnohirskyi districts of Kharkiv due to the attack by Russian drones.
"On February 17, around 1:20 AM, two explosions occurred in Kharkiv. As a result of the hit in the Saltoivskyi district, windows of a house were damaged. In the Kholodnohirskyi district, a 'Shahed' struck a residential area. A fire broke out in an outbuilding. Residential houses were damaged. Three women experienced acute stress reactions," they reported.
It is also noted that investigative and operational groups, rescuers, and medics have arrived at the impact sites.
"Criminal proceedings regarding war crimes have been initiated under Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine," the police added.
Earlier, the Telegraph reported that explosions were heard on the night of February 12. The Russians attempted to attack the capital with ballistic missiles from the Bryansk region, with monitors reporting at least two high-speed targets over the city. The attack resulted in damage and casualties.
