Ukrainian forces have successfully destroyed a rare Russian MLRS "Tosochka" on the front lines for the first time. This occurred in the Pokrovsk direction.

Thus, Russian occupiers have lost their 220-mm heavy flamethrower system TOC-2 "Tosochka" on the battlefield in Ukraine in the Pokrovsk direction.

"The first destroyed Russian 220-mm MLRS TOC-2. February 14, 2025, Pokrovsk direction," the message states.

As noted by analysts from Defense Express, the details of the destruction and the specific weapon used remain unknown. However, analysts speculate that the MLRS was hit using fiber-optic FPV drones.

What is known about the TOC "Tosochka"

Previously, in 2023, Russia boasted about deploying its upgraded TOC-2 "Tosochka" on the battlefield, while the first Ukrainian drone captured this vehicle on the battlefield a year ago.

"TOC-2 "Tosochka" is an advanced version of the heavy flamethrower systems of the TOC type that Russia uses on the battlefield in Ukraine - TOC-1 "Buratino/TOC-1A "Sontsepyok".

Moreover, the TOC-2 "Tosochka" system was first showcased in Russia during the "Caucasus" exercises in 2020.

Russian losses in Ukraine

As of February 15, Russian army losses in the war against Ukraine amounted to 1,730 soldiers. Additionally, the Ukrainian Armed Forces destroyed 84 armored personnel carriers and 77 vehicles.

Furthermore, according to a report by the International Institute for Strategic Studies, the losses of equipment and personnel for Russia in the war against Ukraine have been staggering, but the forces have been partially restored. Consequently, the occupiers are prepared to continue their offensive for another year.

On the other hand, according to the Institute for the Study of War, Russia compensated for tank losses in 2024, but may face a shortage of armored vehicles.
