Reducing the scale of unauthorized absences by military personnel can be achieved through conducting basic military training at combat units. Reports TCN. This has been announced by Kontakty.UA.

This was stated by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi.

"Conducting the basic military training course at brigade facilities allows for a higher level of personnel readiness. It enables on-site quality control; enhances skills in handling weapons and military equipment; improves team cohesion and the adoption of military traditions; and significantly reduces cases of unauthorized absences during training,” Syrskyi noted. “This is yet another example of successful practices that should be implemented on a permanent basis. We will scale this up."

Oleksandr Syrskyi announced the introduction of a new instructor training program for training centers.

According to the Commander-in-Chief, he held a traditional monthly meeting to discuss enhancing the quality of training in the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

As the general pointed out, an analysis was conducted on the training level of graduates from training centers who underwent a longer course of basic military training lasting 1.5 months (instead of the previous 30 days).

"At this stage, we have received feedback from brigades indicating improved readiness among newcomers. We will continue to implement this positive practice and strengthen it with further adaptive training in military units," Syrskyi stated.

At the same time, he noted that there is a need to improve the level of psychological training. In light of this, the Commander-in-Chief emphasized the necessity of strengthening this area of work.

Syrskyi also informed about the introduction of a new instructor training program – "with an increase in their training duration from 1 to 2 months, enhancing the content of this program and the training methods for instructors."

Furthermore, the Commander-in-Chief listened to suggestions and issues arising during training. In particular, this concerns the staffing of instructor groups in brigades and enhancing their work, as well as involving them in training centers.

As Syrskyi reported, the proposals have been incorporated into the 5th edition of the basic military training program, developed with the participation of his deputy, Colonel Oleg Apostol. As the Commander-in-Chief noted, he maintains close interaction with commanders on the ground, which allows for identifying mistakes, implementing valuable suggestions, and scaling up the best practices from brigades and training centers.

Syrskyi emphasized that among the leaders in training are traditionally the units of the Air Assault Forces.

The Commander-in-Chief expressed gratitude to the military personnel and units for their fruitful work in this area and outlined tasks for further enhancing personnel training.

It is worth noting that over 7,000 military personnel voluntarily returned to service after unauthorized absences.
