This is reported by RBK-Ukraine referencing a statement from the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi. This information is also shared by Kontrakty.UA.
The Commander-in-Chief noted that he inspected the Pokrovsk front line, where the enemy is concentrating its main efforts and conducting active offensive operations. During his visits to the command posts, Syrskyi listened to brigade commanders regarding the specifics of combat operations, problematic issues, and took all necessary measures to address them.
He also mentioned that he paid special attention to the 155th Separate Mechanized Brigade.
"It is worth noting that the brigade is gradually acquiring defined combat capabilities. All negative aspects and difficulties that arose during its deployment in Ukraine have been analyzed, and conclusions have been drawn that will be considered in the further training of servicemen," the Commander-in-Chief reported.
Syrskyi also expressed gratitude to international partners, particularly France, which was the first country to respond to the request to create a mechanized brigade and fulfilled all its commitments regarding the training and equipping of the aforementioned military unit.
Scandal Involving the 155th Mechanized Brigade
Recall that there was previously a scandal involving the fighters of the 155th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after Anna of Kyiv. Reports indicated inadequate formation and support for the newly established 155th brigade, as well as mass desertions and AWOL cases, particularly during training in France.
In light of these reports, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi ordered to reinforce the 155th brigade. The Commander of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Mikhail Drapaty took personal control of the situation. He noted that he is looking for new commanders, and despite the inadequate formation, the brigade has occupied a section of the front line.
This week, it became known about the detention of the former commander of the 155th brigade, Dmytro Ryumshin. The investigation emphasizes that during his command, unauthorized departures from the unit by soldiers became widespread. In particular, 56 servicemen from the brigade left the training grounds in France without permission.
