This is reported by RBK-Ukraine with reference to Bloomberg. Reports are also coming from Kontrakty.UA.
According to sources from the publication, the pause may last from 10 days to several months. The suspension is partly related to a review of the diversity, equity, and inclusion provisions in contracts. However, this is also a review that the Trump administration might undertake to reassess priorities and release funding.
The review does not affect the execution of already signed contracts.
"Traditionally, the army is currently reviewing existing requests and signed contracts to ensure that our programs align with the policies and directives of the new leadership. We remain committed to the principles of transparency and responsible management of taxpayer funds," stated Army spokesperson Ellen Lovett.
Previously, we reported that Trump's nomination of Hegseth for the Pentagon chief position shocked Washington. Additionally, according to media reports, Trump was considering other candidates for the head of the U.S. Department of Defense.
Recently, CNN reported that Hegseth paid $50,000 to a woman who alleged he had harassed her. Western media noted that such a payment supposedly occurred as part of a confidentiality agreement with the victim.
