Indeed, Putin has the resources for an intensive war through 2025. Sanctions against the Russian energy sector, the physical destruction of refineries, and the cessation of energy resource purchases will undermine Russia's ability to continue fighting. Reports TCN. This information comes from Kontrakty.UA.
This is stated by the head of the National Security and Defense Council's Analytical Center, Andriy Kovalenko.
Russia will run out of money
The Russian National Welfare Fund will be depleted by the current spending on the war and sanctions by the end of 2025 or early 2026. After that, the aggressor state will only spend what it earns.
"And without the sale of oil and energy resources, Russia will revert to 'Bush's chicken legs'," emphasized Kovalenko.
For this reason, he adds, Russia is currently trying to find voices in the EU that will advocate for the purchase of its energy resources, ease sanctions, and promote any similar ideas through its agents wherever possible. As highlighted by the National Security and Defense Council, to deprive Russia of its ability to wage war, the following are needed:
- sanctions against the Russian energy sector;
- physical destruction of the enemy's refineries;
- creating conditions under which India and China would stop purchasing energy resources, as they are currently doing under sanctions against the tanker fleet.
"Putin has a year, and he is trying to maneuver this combination (measures aimed at reducing Russia's potential - ed.) with all his might," concluded Andriy Kovalenko, head of the National Security and Defense Council's Analytical Center.
Previously, Kovalenko explained how to force Russia to negotiate.
