The future of Ukraine and its territorial integrity will depend on the number of people willing to defend the state. Writes TSN. This is reported by Kontrakty.UA.
Former Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Valeriy Zaluzhny, stated this, emphasizing the crucial role of mobilization resources.
"The main factor for the Armed Forces of Ukraine is not only the number of active military personnel but also the availability of a prepared mobilization resource. It is essential that people are ready to take up arms and defend the country, just as they did in 2022," he noted.
According to Zaluzhny, mobilization is necessary for a prolonged conflict and for ensuring the country's defense capabilities in the future.
"The situation can change. Perhaps now we can conduct a reassessment and realize that even half of the existing mobilization resource may suffice. However, the key is to have a sufficient number of trained individuals ready to fight for Ukraine," concluded the former commander-in-chief.
It is worth noting that Ukraine has introduced one-year contracts with the army for volunteers aged 18 to 24. Volunteers will receive a bonus of 1 million UAH, free education at higher education institutions, preferential mortgage conditions (0% annual interest, with the state covering the interest), and other privileges.
