The U.S. State Department has urged Americans to leave Belarus immediately.

The republic has been assigned a fourth-level risk rating.
Госдепартамент США настоятельно рекомендует гражданам США покинуть Беларусь без промедления.

Americans are urged to leave Belarus as soon as possible and to refrain from traveling there. The country has been assigned a fourth risk level.

This is reported by the U.S. State Department. The primary reason for this decision is the war between Russia and Ukraine.

"U.S. citizens in Belarus should depart immediately," the statement reads.

The department's website states that U.S. citizens should avoid demonstrations and large gatherings, reconsider bringing electronic devices into Belarus, and leave the country as soon as possible, as Americans cannot rely on U.S. assistance due to the absence of an embassy in the republic.

"U.S. citizens should regularly reassess potential departure plans in case of emergencies. Border crossings with neighboring countries may close without prior notice. Additional closures of border crossing points may occur at Belarus' borders with Lithuania, Poland, Latvia, and Ukraine," the State Department's statement says.

It is noteworthy that the U.S. embassy in Minsk ceased operations on February 28, 2022. By order of the State Department, its personnel were evacuated, and services, including emergency assistance, were suspended. U.S. citizens in need of help are advised to contact U.S. embassies and consulates in neighboring countries.

Earlier, "Telegraph" reported that Belarus sought a seat at the "peace negotiations" regarding the war in Ukraine.
