The U.S. has likely eliminated a key Al-Qaeda member in Syria: details emerging.

American forces conducted a targeted strike against an Al-Qaeda member in Syria. The terrorist leader was overseeing Al-Qaeda operations throughout the region.

This information was shared on the page of the President of the United States, Donald Trump, on the social network Truth. According to him, the strike took place over the past weekend.

"Congratulations to CENTCOM Commander (the highest joint command of the U.S. Armed Forces within the Department of Defense — Ed.) General Michael Kurilla and the American fighters who brought justice to yet another jihadist threatening America and our allies and partners," the statement reads.

Note: Al-Qaeda is an international Sunni jihadist terrorist organization. It was founded in 1988 by Osama bin Laden in Afghanistan to combat the Soviet invasion.

In January of this year, the Turkish publication Anadolu reported that Trump wants to withdraw American troops from Syria, which has raised concerns among Israeli leadership. The article noted that there are approximately 2,000 American military personnel stationed there.

However, he did not finish it — the war began, and he moved to Iran. There, alongside Al-Qaeda, he started fighting against the U.S.
