On Tuesday, January 28, an F-35 fighter jet crashed during a training flight in Alaska, USA. The U.S. Air Force pilot survived, and there is no threat to his life.

According to AP, a malfunction occurred during the flight, but the pilot was able to eject from the aircraft, reported Colonel Paul Townsend. He mentioned that the aircraft crashed while landing at Eielson Air Force Base.

He added that the pilot reported an emergency during the flight before the crash. The aircraft sustained significant damage as a result of the fall. The pilot's condition is stable, but he is being examined at the hospital.

Colonel Paul Townsend emphasized that a thorough investigation of the incident will be conducted by the United States Air Force. The aim is to "minimize the likelihood of similar events occurring in the future."

In 2016, Eielson Air Force Base was selected to house 54 F-35 aircraft. The base underwent expansion, with half a billion dollars spent on the construction of 36 new buildings and dozens of living quarters.
