Previously, "limited fit" men were required to undergo a repeated military medical commission (VMC). The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has passed bill No. 12457, which extends the deadline for such citizens to undergo a repeat medical examination.
The new final date for the medical check-up is June 5, 2025. This is reported by the publication "Telegraf".
The law was adopted by the parliament on February 12, 2025, receiving support from 313 members of parliament. President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky signed it on February 13. This decision was made due to the low rate of VMC completion – only 25% of those liable for military service managed to undergo the medical examination by the previous deadline of February 4, 2025.
Undergoing a repeat medical examination is necessary to establish a new fitness status. By June 5, citizens aged 25 to 60 years who were previously classified as "limited fit" for service must undergo a VMC. However, persons with disabilities are exempt from this requirement.
To undergo a repeated medical examination, individuals need to independently contact the territorial recruitment center (TRC).
A new feature has been added to the "Reserve+" application, allowing users to obtain an electronic referral for the VMC. It can be arranged through the electronic cabinet of the conscript.
Citizens who fail to complete the repeat medical examination by June 5 may face fines. The amount of the fine ranges from 17,000 to 25,500 hryvnias.
Previously, "Telegraf" reported on what awaits "limited fit" individuals after the VMC. After the medical examination, men receive a new fitness status, and there is a risk of ending up on the front lines.
