The forces of North Korea, deployed to assist Russia in the war against Ukraine, are experiencing extremely high casualties and could be depleted by mid-April 2025 if the situation does not change. Reports TSN. This information comes from Kontrakty.UA.

This is stated in the report by the Institute for the Study of War (ISW).

The North Korean troops have been losing approximately 92 soldiers daily since their involvement in combat began in December 2024. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that by early January, 3,800 North Korean military personnel had already been killed or wounded. Meanwhile, South Korean intelligence services reported that as of January 13, 2025, 300 North Koreans had died, and another 2,700 had been injured.

Experts note that if the current rate of casualties does not change, 12,000 North Korean soldiers will be lost within 12 weeks (by mid-April 2025).

"North Korean forces are likely to continue facing a higher ratio of wounded to killed, which is typical in armed conflict. It remains unclear whether injured North Korean soldiers will return to combat, and if so, when," ISW reports.

Recall that it was previously reported that South Korea is ready to take in captured North Koreans.

Additionally, we previously informed that Russian forces attempted to prevent the extraction of a North Korean prisoner and provided artillery cover.
