China has advocated for a peaceful resolution to the war in Ukraine following the U.S. decision to allow Ukraine to utilize American long-range missiles to target military sites within Russian territory. Reports TSN. This information comes from Kontrakty.UA.
During a briefing, the spokesperson for the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Lin Jian, stated this, according to The Jakarta Post.
"An immediate ceasefire and a political solution serve the interests of all parties involved. The most important thing is to facilitate a reduction in tensions as soon as possible," he remarked in response to questions regarding the U.S. decision.
China positions itself as a neutral party in the Ukraine conflict and asserts that it is not providing lethal assistance to either side, in contrast to the U.S. and other Western nations.
It is worth noting that journalist Vitaliy Portnikov has claimed that Beijing is currently restraining Moscow from using nuclear weapons. He believes that should relations between the U.S. and China significantly deteriorate, Putin may not hesitate to employ nuclear weapons in the war against Ukraine.
Previously, U.S. President Joe Biden permitted Ukraine to use ATACMS missiles for strikes against Russia in response to Russia's decision to involve North Korean troops in the fighting in the Kursk region.
