U.S. President Donald Trump has a clear desire to rid himself of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, as this serves to mask his inability to influence Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin. This is evidenced by the dispute between Trump and Zelensky in the U.S. on February 28. Reported by TSN, this information comes from Kontrakty.UA.
Such an opinion was expressed by renowned journalist Vitaliy Portnikov.
Portnikov stated that it is evident to him that President Trump wants to get rid of the current president of Ukraine, not only due to his dislike for Zelensky.
"We have a clear desire from the President of the United States and his entourage to eliminate the current president of Ukraine. This is absolutely obvious to me," Portnikov said.
According to the journalist, Trump masks his inability to genuinely influence Russian President Vladimir Putin and his failure to achieve any resolution to end the war.
Portnikov added that Trump's actions aim for a ceasefire without guarantees, and to ensure that Ukraine does not interfere, but he "may fear that Ukraine will not agree to the idea of a ceasefire without any security guarantees."
"And he has no intention of providing any security guarantees to Ukraine," he stated.
In his view, a ceasefire is unlikely to occur through serious agreements.
Recall that after the dispute between U.S. President Donald Trump in the Oval Office of the White House, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky gave an interview to an American broadcaster.
Additionally, amid the scandal in the White House on February 28, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky held two phone conversations.
Meanwhile, Donald Trump stated after the emotional discussion with the Ukrainian president that Volodymyr Zelensky could "return when he is ready for peace."
