Israeli intelligence has revealed details of a pager operation against Hezbollah, according to media reports.

The organization "Hezbollah" was previously compelled to abandon high-tech devices and smartphones, which could easily reveal the identity of the user. The Islamist group sought "armored" pagers, and Israeli intelligence saw this request as a prime opportunity.

This is reported by RBK-Ukraine citing the Israeli news service "Channel 12". This information is also provided by Kontrakty.UA.

Representatives of Israel's external intelligence agency "Mossad" shared new details with journalists about the operation involving the simultaneous detonation of thousands of pagers in September this year, which delivered a severe blow to "Hezbollah".

It is noted that the disclosure of these details was already approved by the Israeli military censorship.

In "Mossad," it is stated that the Secretary-General of the "Hezbollah" organization, Hassan Nasrallah, had previously witnessed the explosion of pagers on several key commanders of the group. This had a significant impact on him.

The pager explosions occurred during a meeting of "Hezbollah" command, which Nasrallah attended.

After this incident, the group abandoned high-tech devices and smartphones due to the risk of tracking device users.

"Hezbollah" decided to acquire "hardened" pagers so that they would not fear active use in field and combat conditions.

The Israeli intelligence began preparing "charged" pagers, while simultaneously launching disinformation through "Hezbollah" purchasers to convince them to buy this particular model.

The armored devices pleasantly surprised the "Hezbollah" group, which subsequently provided thousands of its militants with these new devices that "Mossad" had worked on.

According to Israeli media, the simultaneous explosions, which affected about 4,000 "Hezbollah" militants, resulted from an encrypted message that required pressing two buttons simultaneously for reading.

The material also indicates that after this, "Hezbollah's" capabilities were significantly reduced before the start of the ground operation by the Israel Defense Forces in Lebanon. This had a "significant deterrent effect" on this pro-Iranian group and on Tehran.

Explosions of "pagers" among "Hezbollah" militants

Recall that on September 17, thousands of booby-trapped pagers and hundreds of radios belonging to militants of the Lebanese group "Hezbollah" were detonated. This occurred, in particular, on the territory of Lebanon.

After this, reports emerged in the media, as well as from representatives of several countries in the Middle East, suggesting that Israel was behind the attack, although the country did not take responsibility for some time.

On November 10, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu acknowledged for the first time that Israel was behind the attacks on "Hezbollah" using pagers and radios.
