As reported by RBK-Ukraine, Trump shared this on Truth Social. This was reported by Kontrakty.UA.
"Just think about it, the modest successful comedian Volodymyr Zelensky persuaded the United States of America to spend 350 billion dollars on a war that cannot be won, a war that should never have been started, but which he, without the US and 'Trump', will never be able to resolve," wrote the US president.
The American leader claims that the US has allegedly spent 200 billion dollars more on aid to Ukraine than Europe. And Europe’s money "was secured by guarantees," while the US will "get nothing back."
According to Trump, the war between Russia and Ukraine is "far more important for Europe" than for the US, as the ocean separates American and Russian territories.
"On top of that, Zelensky admits that half of the money we sent him has 'disappeared.' He is avoiding elections, has very low standings in Ukrainian polls, and the only thing he is good at is playing with Biden (the 46th US president Joe Biden - ed.) 'like a violin.' A dictator without elections, Zelensky must act quickly, or he will have no country left," writes the US president.
Trump believes that the US is already successfully negotiating with Russia to end the war, while "Biden has never tried, and Europe has been unable to achieve peace."
"I love Ukraine, but Zelensky has done a terrible job, his country is devastated, and millions of people have died needlessly - and it continues," added the American leader.
Trump's Remarks
It is worth noting that after the meeting of American officials with Russian representatives in Saudi Arabia, which took place yesterday, February 18, many of Trump's messages are closely aligned with Russian propaganda, as well as with the claims of Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin regarding the "illegitimacy" of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
In particular, US President Donald Trump asserted that support for Zelensky among Ukrainians "is 4%". His controversial statements also concerned the amount of aid to Ukraine from the US.
In response, the head of the Ukrainian state emphasized that such statements about ratings are disinformation spread by Russia. He also promised to invite sociological platforms in the coming weeks to provide trust ratings for the leaders of several countries, including Ukraine.
It is important to note that sociological surveys in Ukraine still show a high level of trust in Zelensky. According to the latest survey, 57% of Ukrainians trust the president.
