The NATO Parliamentary Assembly has urged member states' governments to provide Ukraine with medium-range missiles for deterrence and self-defense. TSN reports. This information is shared by Kontrakty.UA.

This was stated by the head of the permanent delegation of Ukraine to the NATO PA, MP Yegor Chernev, as reported on the website of the party "Servant of the People".

"The Ukrainian delegation succeeded in convincing our Western colleagues to support my proposal and include this item in the resolution of the next Assembly session," said Chernev.

According to him, this concerns ballistic missiles with a range of 1000-5500 km, capable of striking deep into enemy territory. For instance, "Tomahawks".

The MP noted that this decision is the first step that creates a legal basis and provides grounds for the governments of NATO countries to make a decision regarding the transfer of medium-range missiles to Ukraine.

Chernev also reminded that at the last NATO PA session, at the initiative of the Ukrainian delegation, a call was made to grant permission for strikes deep into Russia.

It is worth mentioning that in October, Western media reported that a secret part of Ukraine's Victory Plan included a proposal to the U.S. to transfer long-range cruise missiles "Tomahawk" to the state. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky criticized partners for leaking information about such a request.
