This is reported by RBK-Ukraine citing an interview with Israel's ambassador to Ukraine, Michael Brodsky, for "Radio Liberty". This was also mentioned by Kontrakty.UA.
Brodsky pointed out that Israel's Deputy Foreign Minister Sharren Haskel, during her time as a Knesset member, proposed a bill to initiate the transfer of seized Russian-made weapons to Ukraine. However, the proposal did not pass in Parliament. In her new position, Haskel is unable to submit private legislative initiatives.
"The issue of weapon transfers is entirely within the purview of the army and the Ministry of Defense. The Ministry of Defense has not made any such decision," he added.
Ukraine's Embassy in Israel
Recall that last week, the Ukrainian embassy in Israel shared the outcomes of Ambassador Yevhen Korniychuk's meeting with Deputy Foreign Minister Sharren Haskel.
Korniychuk thanked the official for the idea of transferring Russian-made weapons that the IDF seized in Lebanon.
At the same time, the embassy emphasized that they are expecting a positive decision from the Israeli authorities regarding this matter.
The embassy did not specify that Haskel had introduced a bill in the Knesset regarding such assistance to Ukraine, but it was not supported.
