As reported by RBK-Ukraine, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky made this statement during a briefing. This was also reported by Kontrakty.UA.
"In the framework agreement, I was very eager to see at least a sentence about 'guarantees of Ukraine's security,' and the fact that I was briefed by government officials - this appeared in point 10. It's important that this exists. I will review it, and the officials are proposing that the ministers sign the agreement. This agreement could either achieve great success or quietly fade away," said Zelensky.
The head of state emphasized that significant success depends on his conversation with U.S. President Donald Trump.
Agreement between Ukraine and the USA
Recall that yesterday, February 25, the Financial Times, citing sources, reported that Ukraine and the USA have agreed on the details of an agreement regarding rare earth metals. The text mentioned that Ukraine is ready to sign an agreement that involves joint development of its mineral resources with the USA, including oil and gas.
According to FT, the final version of the agreement stipulates the creation of a fund to which Ukraine will allocate 50 percent of the revenue from the sale of rare earth resources.
Today, Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal announced that Ukraine and the USA have effectively finalized the agreement concerning rare earth metals. As of today, this agreement is referred to as the "Agreement on Establishing the Rules and Conditions for the Investment Fund for the Reconstruction of Ukraine."
Additionally, today the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine will review the text of this agreement.
