Zelensky discussed the puzzle that Trump will need to solve.

Zelensky emphasized that peace in Ukraine could be achieved through the efforts of the new President of the United States.
Зеленский рассказал о ребусе, который предстоит разгадать Трампу.

The long-standing conflict may be resolved by the newly elected President of the United States Donald Trump, as Europe and the US did not respond to Russia's aggression that began in 2014. Reports TSN. This information is shared by Kontrakty.UA.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky discussed this in an interview with Italian journalist Cecilia Sali for the newspaper Il Foglio.

"Our war is a puzzle that Trump will have to solve. If he can do it, he will be a winner. And it won’t be easy; I really hope he succeeds, alongside us. Certainly, he has the power of the world, and he can dominate here," the president stated.

"Why do I say 'puzzle'? Because since 2014, there has been a slow occupation of parts of our territories. This happened even before Trump, during Obama’s time. Under the right circumstances, the Russians occupied our areas. For instance, when they occupied Crimea, we did not fight them – there were no orders given. There were some brave soldiers of ours who met the enemy as needed without any orders. However, there was no war, no serious battles. So, this territory was somehow occupied," the head of state explained.

According to Zelensky, Trump has returned to the presidency of the United States with a rather heavy "backpack of history."

"Therefore, he has a chance not to lift the sanctions, as we have done a lot together as a world to influence the Russian war economy, to limit their ability to supply parts for specific military equipment, missiles, artillery, etc. I would very much like him to strengthen these sanctions. It seems to me that he will do just that. I would like us all to work together as allies. And not just sanctions – this also applies to assistance. I believe he can increase it. It can vary: weapons, technologies, sanctions, political influence," the President of Ukraine added.

As a reminder, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky reported that teams from both countries are working on organizing a meeting with President Donald Trump, but the date has not yet been set.

Earlier, the leader of the "Servant of the People" faction, David Arakhamia, stated that negotiations between representatives of Ukraine and the team of the new President of the United States, Donald Trump, could take place in early February.

Additionally, on January 22, Donald Trump firmly called on Putin to stop the war against Ukraine and threatened sanctions.
