This is reported by RBK-Ukraine referencing Rutte's video address on the occasion of the 3rd anniversary of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine. According to Kontrakty.UA,

“NATO will continue to support and stand by Ukraine, assisting it with the challenges ahead to ensure that this war ends with a just and lasting peace,” Rutte stated in his video address.

According to Rutte, over the years of Russian aggression, the countries of the North Atlantic Alliance have aided Ukraine by providing weapons, equipment, and training its soldiers.

“We have made it strong... The courage and resilience of the Ukrainian people inspire the world,” Rutte noted.

The Secretary General added that now, as Ukraine marks three years since the onset of Russia's full-scale invasion, it is vital for NATO countries to further insist on achieving a fair and lasting peace.

Rutte's Statements on Ending the War

Recall that recently Rutte mentioned that NATO countries must help Ukraine take a position of strength. In that case, Ukraine will not lose the war.

“I fundamentally urge allies to provide weapon systems so that Ukrainians have maximum strength for defense. The U.S. is number one, and Germany is number two,” he affirmed.

Regarding negotiations to end the war, Rutte noted that the Russian dictator Vladimir Putin is absolutely unpredictable. However, to achieve a peace agreement, it is essential that the Kremlin leader is present at the negotiating table.

According to Rutte, it is necessary to ensure that “the results of the negotiations are primarily robust.”

“And also, to make it clear in other countries - in the Pacific region, China, and India - that it is the West that has prevailed,” added the NATO Secretary General.
