This is reported by RBK-Ukraine referencing the head of the EU foreign affairs office, Josep Borrell, as quoted by The Guardian. This information comes from Kontrakty.UA.

Before the meeting with EU foreign ministers in Brussels, Borrell expressed hope that the bloc members would ultimately agree to allow Ukraine to use weapons for strikes within Russia.

"I keep reiterating that Ukraine must have the ability to use the weapons we provided, not only to stop the missiles but also to hit the shooters," Borrell stated.

According to him, he is convinced that EU members will discuss this issue again.

"I hope that the member states will reach an agreement on this," he added.

Strikes Deep into Russia

In recent months, Ukraine has actively appealed to the United States and its allies for permission to use Western weaponry to strike targets of the Russian army located deep within Russian territory. Until recently, Washington had been cautious on this matter, avoiding steps that could lead to escalation.

However, according to reports from Western media on November 17, the Biden administration has approved the use of American long-range ATACMS missiles for such operations. Reuters notes that Ukraine may carry out these attacks in the near future.

At the same time, Axios clarifies that the U.S. approval pertains exclusively to strikes in the Kursk region. This decision is believed to be aimed at deterring North Korea from further deploying troops to Russia.

Additionally, Le Figaro reported yesterday about permission from Britain and France regarding the use of long-range SCALP/Storm Shadow missiles for strikes on Russian territory, but later revised the text of the publication.
