The assassination of General Kyrylov in Moscow has sparked discussions about the potential risks faced by high-ranking Russian officials, including President Vladimir Putin. Reports TSN. This information comes from Kontrakty.UA.

The German publication Bild reached out to experts to inquire whether Putin could be the next target.

As the journalists noted, opinions varied widely.

Jakub Janda, director of the Prague-based analytical center “European Values,” believes that Putin is out of danger due to exceptionally well-thought-out security measures. However, he cautioned that mid-level officials in Russia now have reasons to be fearful.

“Such a successful operation by Ukraine in the heart of the enemy's capital sends a definitive message to all Russians involved in war crimes: Ukraine will reach you,” stated Jakub Janda.

Serhiy Sumlynnyi, director of the “Center for European Resilience” initiative in Berlin, expressed the view that Ukraine is intentionally avoiding attempts to harm Putin.

“Ukraine presents him as a dictator, who, in a megalomaniac frenzy, is leading his army to disaster. Meanwhile, the SBU and GUR are eliminating key officers to weaken Russia’s combat capability,” the expert explained.

Jessica Berlin, a senior fellow at the “Center for European Policy Analysis,” believes that Putin lives in constant fear for his life and even employs lookalikes.

“Putin fears for his life every day and has for a long time. It’s no coincidence that he has body doubles, tasters, and his infamous enormous conference table. Ukraine's ability to target high-ranking officers even in the center of Moscow will only heighten his paranoia and distrust of his own people,” she stated.

Recall that on the morning of December 17, in one of Moscow's districts, the chief of the radiation, chemical, and biological protection troops of the Russian Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Ihor Kyrylov, was blown up. He is the same individual who claimed that the USA was preparing malaria-carrying mosquitoes to supposedly drop on the positions of the Russian Armed Forces in Ukraine.
