The Prime Minister of Slovakia, Robert Fico, criticized the actions of student Simon Omanik, who refused to shake hands with the country's president, Peter Pellegrini. According to TSN. This is reported by Kontrakty.UA.

Fico wrote about this on social media.

The politician expressed his outrage that "an ill-mannered teenager with a Ukrainian flag on his jacket did not shake hands with the President of the Slovak Republic."

"Anti-Slovak and anti-government media are wildly applauding the student. They claim that his refusal to shake hands should serve as an example of resistance," – Fico wrote.

He added that "Soros-funded media are dismantling the state live on air."

The Prime Minister stated that he would take the award away from the student.

"I won’t be wise and will say what I would do if my Minister of Education organized a similar event for me, and one of the awarded students did not shake my hand as one of the three highest officials of the state. First of all, I would ask him if he has a children's room. Secondly, what his parents have taught him. Thirdly, I would take his award and send it where it belongs, in front of all the media. Finally, I would thank the Minister of Education for the cooperation," – Fico's post reads.

He added that Pellegrini was mistaken when he said that he respects the student, as "there is nothing to respect here."

Recall that a video surfaced online the day before, showing the student Simon Omanik in Slovakia demonstratively refusing to shake hands with Pellegrini while receiving an award for placing in a mathematics Olympiad. The boy was wearing Ukrainian symbols on his jacket.
