The newly elected President of the United States, Donald Trump, stated that he might revoke the U.S. permission for Ukraine to conduct strikes with Western weaponry deep into Russian territory. Reports TSN. This information is provided by Kontrakty.UA.
He made these remarks during a press conference at his Mar-a-Lago residence on December 16.
In his view, this is a "bad decision," and such strikes should not have been permitted for Ukraine.
"Yes, I might reconsider this decision. I don't believe they (the Ukrainians - Ed.) should have been allowed to strike with missiles 200 miles (322 km) into Russia. In my opinion, that’s wrong," Trump stated.
He believes that this decision has escalated the war: "It has involved the Koreans, North Korea." It should be noted that the permission for long-range strikes was granted after North Korean troops were already engaged by Russia.
Additionally, the newly elected president of the United States feels that the Biden administration should have consulted him and his team regarding the decision on long-range strikes into Russia, but they did not.
"I don't think this should have been allowed. Definitely not just weeks before I become president. Why did they do this without asking me what I think? I wouldn't have let them do it. I believe they made a huge mistake," Donald Trump remarked.
Recall that on November 2, the White House officially confirmed the permission for the Armed Forces of Ukraine to strike with ATACMS missiles on Russian territory.
